Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs), commonly known as junior doctors, work under the direct and indirect supervision of a consultant in a particular specialty. In Irish hospitals, the core medical teams consist of consultants and NCHDs. NCHDs can be in training or non-training roles, often working on 6 or 12-month contracts, with a few having permanent positions. Non-training doctors are employed most at Senior House Officer (SHO) or Registrar level.

RCSI Hospital Group are currently recruiting Senior House Officers, Registrars and Speciality Registrars for January 2024 intake across all seven hospitals.
Specialities include but are not limited to; cardiology, dermatology, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, intensive care medicine, neurology, obstetrics and gynaecology, pathology, public health medicine, oncology, surgery & more.
